BridgeUSA Cyprus Camp Counselor Scholarship

Program Overview

Are you an outgoing and active Cypriot aged 18+ who wants to spend a summer as a camp counselor working with American youth in the U.S.?

The U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus, is funding several U.S. camp counselor opportunities for current post-secondary students, youth workers, youth leaders, and teachers to share their culture and ideas with the people of the United States in camp settings throughout the U.S.

The experience will be part of the J-1 Visa BridgeUSA Camp Counselor Program. The Scholarship program is being administered by Cultural Exchange Network (Cenet), a U.S.-based implementer of BridgeUSA programs.

The Scholarship is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, with the goal of enhancing mutual understanding. Scholarship winners will gain professional experience in the United States, improve their English language skills, and share their own culture with Americans.

The Experience

In June 2025, Scholarship recipients will travel to the United States to start their 3-month camp counselor program. They will be matched with a host camp and work as camp counselors with a high level of interaction with American colleagues and campers. Recipients will meet, work, live with and learn from people of the United States and share daily experiences.

The Scholarship is a unique program and distinct from the general BridgeUSA Camp Counselor Program. For information on Camp Counselor, please visit j1visa.state.gov.
