Eligibility Requirements
Great camp counselors come from a variety of backgrounds.
- Be adventurous and outgoing (bonus points if you have special skills in sports, waterfront activities or the arts!)
- Be excited to work with children in an outdoor setting
- Be a student, teacher or other type of youth development professional
- Be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check
How Do I Apply?
Applying is simple and Cenet is here for you along the way!
- Review the program information and resources below to familiarize yourself with the program
- Create an application. Cenet will ask about your interests, skills, hobbies, experience with children, and personal goals. We use this information to help us find the best camp placement tailored to you.
- Take some time to review the open positions and select the camps where you are most interested in being a counselor.
- Participate in an interview. Your application will be shared with camps, and Cenet will contact you to schedule interviews for counselor positions.
- Apply for your visa. Once you have been hired, Cenet will continue to support you through the program application and visa process, and then throughout your summer at camp!
Pricing / Fees
- Program Fee: $150
- Visa Application Fee: $185 (paid to the U.S. Embassy)
- Health Insurance (monthly fee): Cost varies depending upon program length

Host Requirements
Host camps must be:
- Accredited
- In good standing with the American Camp Association
- Officially affiliated with a nationally recognized non-profit organization; or
- Have been otherwise vetted and approved by Cenet
Camps must agree to Cenet’s Camp Exchange USA Program agreement and comply with the requirements of the cultural exchange program guidelines.

- Have a call with us so that we can discuss the program, learn about your camp, and answer any questions you may have.
