Work Exchange USA

The Summer Work Travel (SWT) Program is a cultural exchange opportunity available to college and university students enrolled full-time and pursuing studies at post-secondary, accredited academic institutions located outside the United States. SWT participants come to the U.S. during their university breaks to share their culture and ideas with U.S. citizens through temporary work and travel opportunities. Eligibility Requirements

Be
a full-time, classroom-based student enrolled in and actively pursuing a degree or other course of study at an accredited, post-secondary educational institution outside the United States. - Possess a sufficient level of English to successfully interact in an English-speaking environment.
How Do I Apply?

- Contact a Cenet-representative agency in your home country (or country of your university) to check your eligibility.
- The agency will assist you with reviewing available placements and submitting a program application to Cenet

The Summer Work Travel (SWT) Program is a cultural exchange opportunity available to college and university students enrolled full-time in post-secondary, accredited academic institutions located outside the United States. SWT participants come to the U.S. during their university break, filling seasonal positions and supporting U.S. businesses who do not have enough local employees during their busy time. All participants are covered by health insurance during their programs.

Host Requirements
- Hire participants for short-term, seasonal positions that do not displace any American workers
- Provide participants with a minimum of 32 hours per week
- Pay participants the same wage as their American counterparts in the same position and pay overtime in accordance with state or federal law
- Comply with the employment terms noted on your job offer
- Be willing to assist with or provide suitable, affordable housing
- Organize cultural activities (e.g., trip to a sporting event or local site of interest) or encourage participants to attend local events
- Communicate promptly with Cenet regarding such things as position changes, employment concerns, emergencies or any situation that impacts the participant’s health, safety or welfare
